A Tribute to Fallen Officer Keona Holley
Baltimore Police Officer Keona Holley was shot while on duty on December 16, 2021, and died one week later on December 23. Officer Holley made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the citizens of Baltimore, and she will never be forgotten for her service.
After the shooting, the Baltimore Police Department asked Signal 13 to use its 501(c)(3) status to raise money to help support Officer Holley’s family during these very difficult days and years ahead. Signal 13 has received an overwhelming response and heartfelt messages of support with more than 1,000 people and businesses across Maryland and the U.S. donating over $100,000. All donations will go directly to Officer Holley’s family.
There have been many tributes to Officer Holley since her death and Signal 13 will continue to help keep Officer Holley’s legacy alive in the hearts of those that she fought so hard to protect.
Today, police work under challenging conditions, and their modest salary often does not match the critical responsibilities they take on. A high percentage of work is dangerous, and police often risk their lives to protect a stranger. It is a tough job, especially during these challenging times, but there are many brave men and women who are willing to put that uniform on every day not knowing if they will ever return home to their families. Officer Keona Holley was one of those brave officers in Baltimore. May she rest in peace and may her family find comfort in the outpouring of support for Officer Holley and Baltimore’s men and women in blue.
The Signal 13 Foundation is a not-for-profit with a mission to support Baltimore City Police officers and their families with financial hardship grants and college scholarships for their children. When an officer is killed in the line of duty, Signal 13 supports the family in their time of need and pays the college tuition for the officer’s children.
Please continue to pray for Officer Holley’s family and continue to support Baltimore police officers. If you wish to become one of the many who have donated to support Officer Holley’s family, please click below.
