Signal 13 – Call to Action – June 2021 Newsletter

The Signal 13 Foundation will always have the backs of Baltimore City Police officers who put their lives on the line every day to protect the citizens of Baltimore. It is a challenging time to be a police officer for many reasons, and that is why it is so encouraging to know there are a lot of people in the community who want to support these brave men and women.

Please check out this month’s edition of Call to Action where you will find great examples of how Signal 13 has been supporting Baltimore Police families with grants and scholarships. See also how YOU can help Signal 13 by joining us at Jimmy’s Famous Seafood for great food, wine, and networking to honor and thank Baltimore’s Police officers.  See the invitation and link to register below.

Signal 13 Video Interviews

“One of the greatest honors as CEO is talking to the people Signal 13 supports. Whether it is a mother putting 3 kids through college or the wife of a police cadet severely injured in a training exercise, it is their stories that validate the mission of the Signal 13 Foundation.”

In this video interview, Nancy Hinds speaks to Baltimore Police Information Tech Supervisor Lynda Lovette and her son David, a Signal 13 Scholarship recipient.  Hear how the Lovette family was aided by a Signal 13 grant after a family tragedy and a 4-year scholarship for David who attended the University of Lynchburg where he graduated in May 2021.

Signal 13 was created to financially support Baltimore Police families with financial hardship grants and college scholarships for their children. In Lynda Lovette’s case, Signal 13 provided both, and the support was so important to her family for many reasons.
