Signal 13 Foundation and Atlas Restaurant Group Provide 940 Turkeys to Baltimore Police and their Families

Baltimore, MD — November 24, 2025 — The Signal 13 Foundation, in partnership with the Atlas Restaurant Group and the Baltimore City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #3, successfully completed its annual Turkeys for Cops Giveaway, distributing 940 turkeys over two days to Baltimore City Police Department personnel.

This long-standing holiday tradition brings together community partners, sponsors, and volunteers to show appreciation for the men and women who serve Baltimore every day. The event on November 18 and 19 ensured that hundreds of police families will enjoy a holiday meal together, regardless of the demanding work schedules often faced by law enforcement professionals.

“Supporting our officers and their families is part of who we are,” said Nancy Hinds, CEO of the Signal 13 Foundation. “The Turkeys for Cops program has become one of our most meaningful annual traditions, and the overwhelming support from our sponsors helps us honor the service and sacrifice of Baltimore’s police officers, especially during the holiday season.”

Volunteers from the Foundation – including Board President Steve Sibel, and Board Directors John Spensieri, Kevin Wesner, Sean O’Conor, Cheri Cernak, and Frances Reaves – joined the Atlas Restaurant Group and members of FOP Lodge #3 to distribute turkeys to officers and BPD civilians between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. both days. Lodge #3 members once again kept distribution running smoothly with exceptional coordination and support.

Generous Sponsors Made the Two-Day Giveaway Possible

The Signal 13 Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to the sponsors whose contributions funded the 940 turkeys distributed this year:

Alera Group, Apartment Services, Atlas Restaurant Group, Curio Wellness, HDC, Inc., H&S Family of Bakeries, Leonardo ELSAG LPR Solutions, McCrickard Family, Robb & Sheila Merritt, MileOneCares, M&T Bank, Premier Rides, and Royal Farms.

Please Lend Us a Hand in 2025

We have a small favor to ask. Thousands of Baltimore Police families have trusted the Signal 13 Foundation to support them during difficult times and when they need assistance paying for college for their kids.

Like other nonprofits, Signal 13’s funding depends on generous donations from individuals, companies and foundations. We can’t do what we do for Baltimore City Police in times of need without your support. Requests for assistance are increasing and we rarely turn a grant or scholarship applicant down.

Signal 13 is celebrating 40 years of helping Baltimore City Police, and the Board’s goal is to do even more to make their lives a little easier during stressful times. We do this because we believe in supporting the brave men and women in the Baltimore Police Department who put their lives on the line everyday to protect us and the city we love.
