Signal 13 Foundation Celebrates Most Successful Family Day at the Zoo

 

BALTIMORE, MD, October 12, 2026 — It was a spectacular day for hundreds of Baltimore Police Department officers, civilian employees, and their families who turned out for the Signal 13 Foundation’s fourth annual Family Day at the Zoo on Saturday, October 3.

Morning rain gave way to afternoon sunshine and a full day of activities, including great music, impressive police displays, a children’s scavenger hunt, raffle, face painting, dancing, a hula hoop contest, and the always-popular Mission BBQ. A penguin and macaw also made special appearances and were a big hit with the kids.

This year’s Family Day was the most successful yet, with 10 Platinum Sponsors and 72 total sponsors helping make the event possible.

Family Day at the Zoo is Signal 13’s way of saying thank you to the hardworking men and women of the Baltimore Police Department and their families for the sacrifices they make every day to help keep Baltimore safe.
