Signal 13 Foundation June 2026 Newsletter: Building Brighter Futures Together
$2 Million in 10 years!
That’s the impact Signal 13 is having on the lives of Baltimore City Police, thanks to you. Supporting those who serve with hardship grants and college scholarships is what Signal 13 is all about. The inspiring personal stories drive our commitment and passion to do even more for our brave first responders who sacrifice so much to keep us safe.
Signal 13 Scholarship Story
Jazzi Pridgen is a first-generation college graduate who might not be where she is today if Signal 13 had not stepped in. Jazzi graduated from Morgan State in May and is off to graduate school with a very bright future.
Sergeant Didn’t Want to Ask for Help
Northern District Sergeant Anita Pitts didn’t need a scholarship for her kids; she needed help with a big mess at home. An unexpected sewage emergency left her lost and desperate for assistance. She reluctantly reached out to Signal 13 because she didn’t think anyone would care. She quickly learned just the opposite.
Family Day at the Zoo for Baltimore City Police
Although it’s our biggest fundraiser of the year, this event is really a day for Baltimore Police and civilians to enjoy with their families away from the dangers and daily stress of the job. Join hundreds of Baltimore’s business leaders and support Family Day at the Maryland Zoo on October 3. Sponsorships are available. It’s a perfect way to thank police and show them how much we care. There is no group more worthy of our support.

Please Lend Us a Hand in 2026
We have a small favor to ask. Like Sergeant Anita Pitts, thousands of Baltimore Police families have trusted the Signal 13 Foundation to support them during difficult times. Like other nonprofits, Signal 13’s funding depends on generous donations from individuals, companies and foundations. We can’t do what we do for Baltimore City Police in times of need without your support. Requests for assistance are increasing and we rarely turn a grant or scholarship applicant down. Signal 13 is celebrating 40 years of helping Baltimore City Police, and the Board’s goal is to do even more to make their lives a little easier during stressful times. We do this because we believe in supporting the brave men and women in the Baltimore Police Department who put their lives on the line every day to protect us and the city we love.
