Signal 13 Foundation Welcomes Gary McLhinney as BPD Coordinator

The Signal 13 Foundation is pleased to announce that Gary McLhinney is joining the Foundation as the new Baltimore Police Department Coordinator. Gary brings decades of law enforcement, public service and leadership experience to Signal 13. He was a Baltimore City Police officer for 23 years, including 10 years as the president of the Baltimore City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 3 Gary was elected to that position and remains the longest serving president to this day. Gary most recently served as a colonel in the Howard County Police Department. He retired this past June. Gary spent 11 years with the State of Maryland in senior level positions at the MD Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services and the Maryland Transportation Authority Police.

In his new role, Gary will help with fundraising and building new partnership opportunities within the Baltimore Police Department that advance Signal 13’s mission to support Baltimore police officers in times of need and crisis.

Signal 13’s longtime liaison, Jerry Heid, announced his retirement last week after 41 years of service. Jerry will work with Gary through the transition.

Please join us in welcoming Gary McLhinney to the Signal 13 Foundation. We look forward to this next chapter and to continuing our commitment to the men and women of the Baltimore Police Department and their families.
